Imran Khan Compares Pakistan’s Current Situation to Military Rule

Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former Prime Minister, has launched a strong criticism against Pakistan’s ruling coalition and institutions. He compared the current situation to the era of military ruler Yahya Khan, accusing the establishment of destroying the country’s institutions.

Yahya Khan Part Two

In a social media post, Khan stated, “The country is currently experiencing Yahya Khan’s (Martial Law Dictator) rule all over again.” He accused the current establishment of being “Yahya Khan part two” and claimed that they are destroying the country’s institutions.

Allegations Against the Judiciary

Khan alleged that Judge Humayun Dilawar was given land and illegal NOCs in return for delivering a guilty verdict against him. He also accused Qazi Faez Isa of protecting the ruling coalition from accountability.

Economic Criticism

Khan criticized Pakistan’s economic condition, comparing it to Singapore. He stated that investments come when the rule of law is assured, and lamented that Pakistan has the lowest foreign investment in its history.

Continued Imprisonment and Social Media Activity

Despite being in Adiala Jail, Khan continues to post messages on social media, which have often sparked controversy. Recently, the Federal Investigation Agency launched a probe into an “anti-state post” from Khan.

PTI’s Mega Rally

PTI recently carried out a mega rally demanding Khan’s release, alleging that the state carried out a crackdown and shots were fired at their leaders. Khan also criticized the detention of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.

Cricket Analogy

Using cricket terminology, Khan criticized the country’s institutions, stating, “Whenever Sikandar Sultan Raja (Chief Election Commissioner) bowls, Qazi Faez Isa (Chief Justice of Pakistan) is in the first slip, while Aamer Farooq (Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court) in second slip. This is a fixed match.”
