Imran Khan and PTI Join All Parties Conference to Fight Terrorism in Pakistan

Islamabad [Pakistan], July 6: Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), announced on Friday that his party will actively participate in the government’s All Parties Conference (APC). The APC aims to discuss Operation Azm-i-Istehkam, a new national counter-terrorism campaign launched by the Central Apex Committee on the National Action Plan.

The operation seeks to use Pakistan’s military, diplomatic, legislative, and socio-economic resources to combat terrorism and extremism. Imran Khan stated, “Azm-i-Istehkam is crucial for national security, and PTI will engage in the APC to understand and contribute to the government’s strategy.” He also highlighted the need for cooperation with Afghanistan to ensure the operation’s success.

Information Minister Attaullah Tarar confirmed ongoing consultations with government allies regarding the APC and echoed Imran’s sentiments on the importance of national consensus. Defence Minister Khawaja Asif welcomed PTI’s decision to join the APC, describing it as a positive step towards national unity on security matters.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari also confirmed his party’s participation in the APC, emphasizing the importance of including Balochistan’s perspective on terrorism. He highlighted the PPP’s comprehensive policy stance on terrorism and expressed readiness to contribute constructively to the discussions.
