IMD Scientist Sanjeev Dwivedi Predicts Rain and Thunderstorms in Odisha

IMD Scientist Sanjeev Dwivedi announced that light thunderstorms with gusty winds and light to moderate rain are expected in several districts of Odisha. The affected districts include Nuapada, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Puri, Cuttack, Khorda, Ganjam, Gajapati, Malkanagiri, Jagatsingpur, Kendrapada, Bhadrak, Balasore, and Raygada.

Odisha has experienced a 39% rainfall deficit in the last 22 days, but conditions are favorable for the monsoon to advance further into the state over the next three to four days. Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre Director Manorama Mohanty noted that while all districts recorded deficit rains, eight districts saw normal rainfall recently.

In addition to Odisha, rain also brought relief to Delhi, Noida, and Dehradun, providing a break from the heatwave that had affected these regions for the past two months.
