Imam Sajid Alam and Sanjauli Mosque Committee Condemn AIMIM Chief Shoaib Jamai’s Actions in Shimla

Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], September 26: The Imam of the Sanjauli Mosque, Sajid Alam, criticized AIMIM Delhi Chief Shoaib Jamai for disturbing the peace in Shimla. Alam emphasized the strong bond between the Muslim and Hindu communities in the region, stating, “We celebrate festivals and marriages together. Outsiders don’t understand the culture and harmony we share in this region.”

Alam urged outsiders not to disrupt the communal harmony in the state, explaining that the visitors who caused trouble were unknown to the local community. He clarified that the original building plan of the mosque was approved and that they are working to remove any unauthorized parts, respecting the court’s decision to maintain peace.

The issue escalated after Shoaib Jamai visited the mosque and posted a video on social media, alleging discrimination against the mosque compared to other illegal constructions. Jamai questioned why the mosque was specifically targeted and announced his intention to file a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the High Court.

The Sanjauli Mosque Committee disagreed with Jamai’s views, arguing that outsiders are disrupting Shimla’s peace. Mohammad Latif, President of the Sanjauli Mosque Committee, stated that they are ready to demolish the unauthorized part of the mosque themselves and have submitted a memorandum to the Municipal Commissioner. Latif emphasized that the local community had no idea about Jamai’s intentions and that the atmosphere in Himachal is peaceful.
