IIT Delhi Transfers New Healthcare Technologies to Industry
New Delhi, August 1: Two new healthcare technologies developed under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology’s (MeitY) project Nanoelectronics Network for Research and Applications (NNetRA) were transferred to industry on July 31 at an event hosted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi.
DNA Aptamer for Prostate Cancer Detection
This technology, developed by Prof. Prashant Mishra and his team from IIT Delhi, was transferred to Dr. Swapnil Sinha of HUMMSA Biotech Pvt. Ltd., Kolkata. It is capable of binding to specific oncogenes and could be useful for prostate cancer theranostics.
Photonic Chip based Spectrometric Biosensor
Developed by Prof. Joby Joseph and his team from IIT Delhi, this technology was transferred to Mr. Nitin Zaveri of UNINO Healthcare Private Limited, Mumbai. It enables quick and accurate detection of pathogens, aiding in the prevention of infectious diseases.
The Secretary of MeitY congratulated the teams and emphasized the importance of technology transfer for innovation, collaboration, and sustainable development. The event was attended by several dignitaries, including S. Krishnan, Secretary of MeitY, and Professor Rangan Banerjee, Director of IIT Delhi.
