IICA Inaugurates Sixth Batch of Post Graduate Insolvency Programme in Manesar

Inauguration of Sixth Batch of Post Graduate Insolvency Programme at IICA

The Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, has launched the sixth batch of its flagship Post Graduate Insolvency Programme (PGIP) in Manesar. The event was attended by prominent figures including Justice S Ravindra Bhat, Ajay Bhushan Prasad Pandey, Alok Srivastava, Sudhaker Shukla, and KL Dhingra.

Key Highlights

Justice S Ravindra Bhat, the Chief Guest, discussed the journey and objectives of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) since its inception in 2016. He emphasized the importance of an efficient resolution process and the role of insolvency professionals (IPs) in managing claims, assets, and finances.

Alok Srivastava shared his experiences with IBC matters, highlighting the role of IPs in the resolution process and the influence of the UK Common Law system on the IBC model.

Sudhaker Shukla noted the Prime Minister’s observations on the ‘strategy of recognition, resolution, and recapitalisation’ and mentioned the success of IBC with nearly 1000 resolutions in the current year.

KL Dhingra spoke about the success stories of PGIP alumni and the importance of ethics in the resolution process.

Ajay Bhushan Prasad Pandey highlighted the robust insolvency framework provided by IBC and its role in maintaining public faith in the financial system.

Programme Objectives

The PGIP aims to create skilled professionals in the field of insolvency and bankruptcy, equipping them with advanced skills and insights necessary for corporate restructuring and insolvency proceedings. The programme has been well-received since its inception in 2019.

Pyla Narayana Rao, Associate Professor at IICA, concluded the event with a vote of thanks.
