IDF’s Golani Brigade Conducts Targeted Operation Against Hezbollah in Southern Lebanon
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Golani Infantry Brigade is actively engaged in a targeted ground operation in southern Lebanon, focusing on the Hezbollah terrorist organization. This operation has led to the elimination of approximately 60 terrorists through both ground and air attacks.
The IDF has successfully located and destroyed numerous terrorist infrastructures, including above-ground and underground facilities, as well as enemy weapons along Israel’s border fence. Documents left by the terrorists have also been uncovered.
In recent days, the Golani Reconnaissance Special Forces have engaged in direct combat, resulting in the elimination of many terrorists. During an encounter last Wednesday, the forces discovered an underground infrastructure with a shaft containing numerous weapons. Four terrorists entrenched in this area were eliminated.
Tragically, five soldiers and commanders from the Golani patrol lost their lives in this encounter: Major Ofek Bakr, Captain Elad Siman Tov, First Sergeant Elyashiv Eitan Wieder, First Sergeant Yaakov Hillel, and First Sergeant Yehuda Dror Yahalom.
Despite these losses, the IDF has stated, “We will not stop and will continue to hit the enemy.”
