IDF Reveals Palestinian Islamic Jihad Member Fadi al-Wadiya’s Dual Life

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) released photos showing Fadi al-Wadiya, a rocket specialist for the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, wearing the group’s uniform. Al-Wadiya, who also worked for Doctors Without Borders, was killed in an airstrike in northern Gaza while bicycling to work.

Claims and Counterclaims

According to Lt. Col. Avichay Adraee, the IDF’s Arabic spokesperson, al-Wadiya had been involved with Islamic Jihad for 15 years, specializing in electronics and chemistry for rocket manufacturing. Adraee stated that al-Wadiya had attempted to travel to Iran for terrorism training the same year he joined Doctors Without Borders.

Doctors Without Borders denied that al-Wadiya was a terrorist and condemned the airstrike that killed him. They emphasized his role as a physical therapist.

Exploitation of Medical Sector

The IDF highlighted how terror groups like Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad exploit Gaza’s medical sector. They reported that 85% of Gaza’s hospitals have been used for terror activities. For instance, Hamas has used Shifa Hospital, Gaza’s largest medical center, to launch rockets, hide hostages, and dig tunnels.

In March, Israeli forces raided Shifa Hospital, arresting over 800 terrorists. Ahmed Kahlot, director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, confirmed that Hamas operatives used hospitals and ambulances for military activities.

Recent Attacks

On October 7, Hamas attacked Israeli communities near the Gaza border, resulting in 1,200 deaths and 252 hostages. Of the 116 remaining hostages, more than 30 are believed to be dead.
