ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025: Global Trophy Tour Begins in Pakistan
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced a global Trophy Tour for the Men’s Champions Trophy 2025, which will be hosted by Pakistan. The tour starts in Islamabad, Pakistan, and will visit various iconic locations in the country before going international.
Tour Details
The tour was initially planned to include Pakistan-occupied Jammu-Kashmir, but the ICC revised the itinerary after objections from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The BCCI opposed the inclusion of disputed areas like Skardu, Hunza, and Muzaffarabad, leading to their removal from the tour schedule.
The Trophy Tour will begin in Islamabad, with stops at landmarks such as Daman-e-Koh, Faisal Mosque, and the Pakistan Monument. Former Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Akhtar will be present at the launch. The tour will then proceed to other Pakistani cities like Karachi, Abbottabad, and Taxila before heading to international destinations.
International Tour
After Pakistan, the trophy will travel to Afghanistan, Bangladesh, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, England, and India. The tour will feature a series of physical and digital engagements, showcasing the trophy alongside cultural elements like food and music.
