ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Trophy Tour Begins in Pakistan Amid India’s Participation Concerns

ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Trophy Tour Begins in Pakistan

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that the trophy tour for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will start from Islamabad on November 16. The tour will include stops in Skardu, Murree, Hunza, and Muzaffarabad. The PCB shared this news on X, inviting fans to see the trophy that Sarfaraz Ahmed lifted in 2017 at The Oval, from November 16 to 24.

India’s Participation Uncertain

There is ongoing uncertainty regarding India’s participation in the tournament. India has expressed concerns about traveling to Pakistan due to security issues. The PCB has reached out to the International Cricket Council (ICC) for clarification on India’s decision not to travel. The ICC has confirmed in writing that India will not participate in the event in Pakistan.

Possible Hybrid Model

In response, the PCB is considering hosting the tournament in a hybrid model, similar to the Asian Trophy held last year, where India played its matches in Sri Lanka. However, PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi recently stated that there have been no discussions about hosting the tournament in this manner.
