Hyderabad Police Prepare for Muharram 2024
Commissioner Kothakota Sreenivasa Reddy Leads the Efforts
Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Kothakota Sreenivasa Reddy visited Bibi-Ka-Alawa to review preparations for Muharram 2024. He was accompanied by Additional CPs Vikram Singh Mann and P Viswa Prasad, and DCP South Zone Sneha Mehra. The team inspected the route for the upcoming elephant procession scheduled for July 17.
Following the inspection, Commissioner Reddy held a meeting at Purani Haveli office with police officials. They discussed maintaining law and order, traffic diversion, and parking arrangements during the procession. The police are taking all necessary measures to ensure a peaceful and smooth conduct of the Muharram procession.
Muharram is a significant religious event for Shia Muslims. In India, the 7 to 8 crore Shia Muslim community, along with people of different religions, participate in large processions and tazias.
