The Hyderabad Excise Department has taken action against an ice cream parlour for selling whiskey-laced ice cream. Several individuals involved in this activity have been arrested.

Raid at Ariko Cafe Ice Cream Parlour

The incident occurred when the Excise Department raided Ariko Cafe Ice Cream Parlour located on roads 1 and 5 in the Jubilee Hills area of Hyderabad. During the raid, officials seized 23 pieces, totaling 11.5 kg, of whiskey ice cream. The parlour was operated by Sharath Chandra Reddy, who mixed 60 ml of whiskey into each kilogram of ice cream and sold it at high prices. Other individuals involved, Dayakar Reddy and Shobhan, advertised the product on Facebook to attract more customers.

Seizure of Non-Duty-Paid Liquor

In a separate incident, the Excise Department seized non-duty-paid liquor worth Rs 3.85 lakhs at RTC Cross Roads in Hyderabad. Gopal Agrawal, a resident of Attapur, had brought the liquor from Chandigarh and intended to sell it at a higher price in Hyderabad. He purchased the liquor for Rs 1.32 lakh in Chandigarh and planned to sell it for Rs 4 lakh in Hyderabad, aiming to make a significant profit.

Further investigations are underway in both cases.
