Paank Highlights Abductions and Violations

The Human Rights Department of the Baloch National Movement, known as Paank, has raised urgent concerns about the human rights situation in Balochistan. In October, there were 110 enforced disappearances across 15 districts, six extrajudicial killings, and increased military aggression. Abductions, forced migration, and a violent crackdown on protesters have also been reported in Balochistan and Karachi.

Recently, Paank reported the abduction of six Baloch civilians by Pakistani security forces between November 5 and November 7. This has caused outrage among human rights activists and local communities. Paank is urging Pakistani authorities to release the detained individuals and stop enforced disappearances.

Human rights violations in Balochistan have been a longstanding issue. The ethnic Baloch people have faced systematic discrimination and a lack of political autonomy. The Pakistani state has been accused of suppressing Baloch nationalist movements through extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances, and torture. The military and intelligence agencies have been implicated in these abuses.

Despite Balochistan’s rich natural resources, the region suffers from economic underdevelopment, limited access to education, healthcare, and infrastructure, which fuels discontent among the Baloch population.
