The fourth day of the 2nd Hockey India Sub Junior Men and Women North Zone Championship 2024 saw exciting matches at the Major Dhyan Chand Hockey Stadium in Lucknow.

Women’s Category

Hockey Uttarakhand won against Hockey Himachal with a score of 3-2. Mansi Katariya and Shivani Kumari scored for Uttarakhand, while Shikha Saini and Navneet Kaur scored for Himachal.

Hockey Haryana defeated Hockey Punjab 10-1. Nancy Saroha, Manjinder, Chanchal, Kaphi, Mahi, Harshita, and Himanshi scored for Haryana, with Rashmeen Kaur scoring the lone goal for Punjab.

Uttar Pradesh Hockey won 6-0 against Hockey Chandigarh. Vibha Katiyar, Payal Sonakar, Naincy Singh, and Akansha Mitra were the goal scorers for Uttar Pradesh.

Men’s Category

Hockey Punjab triumphed over Delhi Hockey with a 5-0 victory. Akash Deep, Mandeep Singh, and Diljit Singh scored for Punjab.

Upcoming South Zone Championship

The 2nd Hockey India Sub-Junior Men and Women South Zone Championship 2024 will start in Kollam, Kerala, from July 19 to July 26. Teams from Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Puducherry, and Kerala will compete in a round-robin format. The top two teams will advance to the final, while the third and fourth-placed teams will compete for third place.

Hockey India President Dilip Tirkey expressed excitement about the championship, emphasizing its importance for young players to showcase their skills and gain experience.
