Hockey Punjab and Uttar Pradesh Shine in Junior Women and Men North Zone Championship 2024
On day six of the 2nd Hockey India Junior Women and Men North Zone Championship 2024, held in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, Hockey Punjab and Uttar Pradesh Hockey emerged victorious in their respective women’s and men’s fixtures.
Women’s Fixtures
Hockey Punjab vs. Hockey Himachal
Hockey Punjab defeated Hockey Himachal with a score of 8-0. Kamaldeep Kaur (17′, 27′), Kiranpreet Kaur (20′, 59′), and Sukhveer Kaur (28′, 36′) each scored twice, while Jashmeen Gill (25′) and Sanna (53′) added to the tally.
Uttar Pradesh Hockey vs. Hockey Chandigarh
Uttar Pradesh Hockey won 2-0 against Hockey Chandigarh. Purnima Yadav (55′) scored the first goal, and captain Vandana Patel (60′) secured the win with a second goal.
Men’s Fixtures
Hockey Punjab vs. Hockey Jammu & Kashmir
Hockey Punjab triumphed over Hockey Jammu & Kashmir with a score of 21-0. Lovenoor Singh (19′, 25′, 25′, 49′, 50′, 52′) led the attack with six goals. Charanjeet Singh (2′, 5′, 35′, 39′) and Karan Singh (9′, 10′, 14′, 54′) each scored four goals. Other scorers included Arshdeep Singh (21′, 23′), Pritpal Singh (7′), Ajaypal Singh (26′), Om Rajnesh Saini (28′), Manroop Singh (43′), and Jobanpreet Singh (48′).
Uttar Pradesh Hockey vs. Hockey Himachal
Uttar Pradesh Hockey defeated Hockey Himachal 19-1. Ujjwal Pal (1′, 9′, 34′, 44′, 55′) scored five goals, and Sajan Yadav (16′, 30′, 30′, 58′) added four goals. Ajeet Yadav (14′, 59′), Fahad Khan (24′, 26′), Abhijit Pal (28′, 53′), Mohd. Zaid Khan (47′, 50′) each scored twice, while Rahul Rajbhar (42′) and Venvashi Triloki (51′) scored one goal each. Hockey Himachal’s Captain Jatin (41′) scored the lone goal for his team.
