14th Hockey India Junior Women National Championship 2024
In Ranchi, Jharkhand, the 14th Hockey India Junior Women National Championship 2024 saw Hockey Madhya Pradesh and Hockey Jharkhand advance to the finals. Hockey Madhya Pradesh secured their spot after a thrilling 1-1 (5-4 SO) victory against the Hockey Association of Odisha. Bahala Surekha initially gave Odisha the lead, but Patel Sneha equalized, leading to a penalty shootout. In sudden death, Katariya Khushi, Kajal, and Huda Khan scored for Madhya Pradesh, with goalkeeper Krisha Parihar saving the decisive penalty.
Hockey Jharkhand defeated Hockey Haryana 2-1 to reach the final. Roshni Aind and Parwati Topno scored for Jharkhand, while Haryana’s captain Nandni managed a late goal. Earlier, Madhya Pradesh beat Uttar Pradesh Hockey 2-0, with captain Bhumiksha Sahu scoring twice. Jharkhand also triumphed over Hockey Maharashtra 3-0, thanks to a hattrick by Dungdung Sweety.
In other quarterfinals, Hockey Haryana overcame Hockey Punjab 3-1, and the Hockey Association of Odisha defeated Chhattisgarh Hockey 5-1, with standout performances from Kujur Rambha and Karuna Minz.
