Hockey India Launches Level ‘1’ Coaching Course at Major Dhyan Chand Stadium

Hockey India has kicked off the Hockey India (HI) Coaching Education Pathway Level ‘1’ Coaching Course 2024 at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi. This program, starting today, involves 96 aspiring Indian coaches who will enhance their skills and learn the latest coaching techniques.

The course is structured into four batches of 24 candidates each, with the final batch completing the program on November 14. The course is led by Hockey India educators BJ Kariappa, Vickram Kanth, and Edgar Mascarenhas, who will guide the participants through the nine-day program.

Upon successful completion, candidates will be eligible to enroll in the Level ‘2’ Coaching Course, which will be scheduled later. Hockey India President Dilip Tirkey expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative, emphasizing the importance of well-trained coaches for the growth of hockey in India.

Hockey India Secretary General Bhola Nath Singh also highlighted the significance of the course in elevating hockey coaching standards in India. He noted that equipping coaches with the latest skills will foster a new generation of talent to drive the future of Indian hockey.
