Hindu Community Protests in Hyderabad, Pakistan Over Temple Attack

The Hindu community in New Aliabad Colony, Hyderabad, Pakistan, staged a protest in front of the Hyderabad Press Club and the SSP office. They were outraged over the alleged assault on the RamaPir Hindu Temple, which left four people injured.

The demonstration included women and children and was in response to the lack of arrests related to the attack. A case has been filed against 11 people, including charges of attempted murder, but no arrests have been made.

The attack occurred during a religious ceremony at the RamaPir Temple. A fight broke out among some young people from the Hindu community, and later, a group of men from outside the colony got involved. Over 10 assailants burst into the temple and began firing indiscriminately, injuring Rohit Kumar, Sawai Kumar, Ramesh Kumar, and Teso LaI.

This incident is part of a larger pattern of persecution faced by minority communities in Pakistan. Many have migrated to other countries for safety, while those who remain continue to face oppression. In August, hundreds of individuals from minority and marginalized communities held the first ‘Minority Rights March’ in Karachi, advocating for their rights and demanding an end to forced conversions.
