Hindu College and Manipur Launch Skill Training in Fragrance Formulation for Women

Hindu College, University of Delhi, has announced a new Skill Training Programme in Fragrance Formulations for Wellness Products. This initiative, organized in partnership with the Government of Manipur, Ultra International Ltd, and CSIR-CIMAP, aims to empower 30 women from Manipur with specialized skills in the fragrance industry.

The program is guided by a Supreme Court-appointed committee led by Justice Gita Mittal. It includes theoretical sessions, special lectures, hands-on training, industrial visits, and excursions over three weeks.

Dr. Vineet Joshi, Chief Secretary of the Government of Manipur, attended the inaugural event as the Chief Guest. He expressed gratitude to Justice Gita Mittal and the committee members, highlighting the program’s potential to support participants’ ambitious endeavors.

Prof. Anju Srivastava, Principal of Hindu College, emphasized the transformative potential of the training, noting that it involves much more than academic learning. The program is divided into two phases: Skill Training in Fragrance Formulation for Wellness Products and the Ultra International Programme for Essential Oil Production and its Value Addition for Manipur.

Prof. Srivastava also mentioned the unique floral resources of Manipur, such as Siroi Lily and Peace Lily, which have significant potential for the fragrance industry. The training aims to contribute to the socio-economic growth of the state by empowering women to become visionary entrepreneurs.

Mercina R. Panmei, IAS Commissioner (Taxes) and SO, Manipur, attended the event as the Guest of Honour.
