Himachal Pradesh Minister Jagat Singh Negi Criticizes Union Budget

Favoring Bihar and Andhra Pradesh

Himachal Pradesh Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi expressed his disappointment with the Union Budget, which he believes favors Bihar and Andhra Pradesh, states where BJP allies are in power. Negi stated that every state has an equal right to the Centre’s resources and criticized the budget for not addressing the needs of all states.

Negi highlighted that no funds were allocated for disaster management in Himachal Pradesh, despite the extensive damage caused by floods last year. He described the budget as a move to save the government rather than addressing the needs of all states.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced major investments for Bihar, including the development of an industrial node at Gaya, several expressway projects, a new power plant, and new airports, medical colleges, and sports infrastructure. She also promised expedited external assistance for Bihar’s capital investments.

For Andhra Pradesh, Sitharaman emphasized the BJP-led government’s commitment to fulfilling the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act. She announced financial support for the Polavaram Irrigation Project, essential infrastructure in industrial corridors, and grants for backward regions.
