Committee Led by Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan
On September 20, Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania announced the formation of a seven-member committee to create a street vendor policy. This decision was based on a resolution passed by the House on September 10, 2024.

Criticism from BJP Leader Jairam Thakur
On September 11, BJP leader and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur criticized the Congress government for not initiating the process of identity registration and verification for street vendors. He expressed concerns about the presence of unverified vendors on the streets, which he believes could lead to community tensions.
