Himachal Pradesh Congress Wins Big in By-Polls
Pratibha Singh and Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu Speak on Victory
Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, July 13: The Congress party celebrated a significant victory after winning two out of three seats in the Himachal Pradesh by-polls. Himachal Pradesh Congress President Pratibha Singh expressed gratitude to the voters, stating that people have shown trust in the Congress government and the INDIA Bloc.
Pratibha Singh highlighted that the Congress performed well in all three seats and even led in two seats in Uttarakhand, where the BJP is in power. She mentioned that the BJP failed to meet the expectations of the people, and the public did not favor the candidates who switched from Congress to BJP.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu praised the people of Himachal Pradesh for giving a strong response to those who attempted to destabilize the elected government through horse trading and poaching. He emphasized that the people are aware and such tactics will not succeed.
CM Sukhu also congratulated Kamlesh Thakur for winning the Dehra seat and explained that fielding his wife from Dehra was a strategic move to strengthen Congress in Kangra. He noted that winning two out of three BJP stronghold seats is a significant achievement.
Himachal Pradesh Minister Vikramaditya Singh added that the people have reinforced the Congress party, and he is confident that the party will perform well in future state elections. He acknowledged the educated electorate of Himachal Pradesh for giving a clear mandate to Congress.
