In Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu held a high-level meeting to review the preparations for the International Kullu Dussehra festival. The event is set to take place from October 13 to 19. The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of completing all arrangements on time and ensuring respect for the deities involved in the festival.

International Participation and Cultural Events

This year, the festival will feature around 20 international cultural troupes, with confirmed participants from Russia, Sri Lanka, the USA, Indonesia, and Myanmar. Artists from Indian states such as Assam, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, and Haryana will also perform, alongside local Himachal Pradesh groups.

Global Appeal and Security Measures

Several foreign diplomats are expected to attend, enhancing the festival’s global appeal. A cultural parade is scheduled for October 14, and the Kullu Carnival will occur on October 19, showcasing government achievements. Sports competitions like Kabaddi and volleyball will add to the festivities. To ensure safety, 300 Home Guard personnel and 870 police officers will be deployed.
