Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu Discusses State’s Financial Woes
Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], August 29: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu spoke about the state’s financial issues during the monsoon session of the Assembly. He mentioned that funds from the Union Government have not been received.
Revenue Deficit Grant Reduction
The Chief Minister explained that the Revenue deficit grant has been reduced from Rs 8,058 crore to Rs 6,258 crore and will further decrease to Rs 3,257 crore by 2025-26.
Pending Funds
He also stated that out of Rs 9,042 crore of PDNA, no amount has been sent by the central government. Additionally, the NPS contribution of around Rs 9,200 crore from the PFRDA has not been received, and GST compensation has stopped since 2022, reducing the state’s funds by Rs 2,500-3,000 crore.
Blame on Previous Government
During a press conference, the Chief Minister blamed the previous BJP state government for the financial issues, stating they had received around Rs 10,000 crore from the revenue deficit grant, which has been reducing since then.
Delay in Salaries and Allowances
On social media platform X, the Chief Minister announced a delay in salaries and allowances of employees, urging public representatives to support this decision for the state’s economic interests.
