Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu Visits Dehra for Development Projects
On August 16, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu visited the Dehra Assembly constituency to inspect land sites for various offices and development projects. He urged the district administration to expedite the identification of suitable land for the new Superintendent of Police office and other offices in Dehra.
Inspection of Ongoing Projects
During his visit, the Chief Minister inspected the ongoing construction of the fire station, SDM office, hospital, sericulture office, and Government Senior Secondary Schools for boys and girls in Dehra. He interacted with students and directed teachers to keep them informed about current events, emphasizing the need to improve general knowledge and educational standards in the state.
New Announcements
Chief Minister Sukhu announced the construction of a new building for Dehra College with an allocation of seven crore rupees. He also emphasized boosting tourism in Dehra and nearby constituencies, announcing the ‘Dehra Utsav’ to promote local culture and attract tourists by the end of the year.
Infrastructure and Development
The Chief Minister directed the laying of underground electricity cables in Dehra and Jawalamukhi, assuring adequate funding for the project. He held a meeting with district officers to review the progress of development projects and instructed the HPSEBL to address electricity issues in Dehra, considering upcoming projects like the Central University Campus and an International-level zoo.
Water Supply and Road Connectivity
He ordered the preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for drinking water schemes in various villages and the construction of additional water tanks to tackle water scarcity. UV filter systems will be installed in the drinking water schemes. New bus stands will be constructed at Khundiyan in Jawalamukhi and Dadasiba in the Jaswan Paragpur area to improve commuter facilities.
Sports and Youth Engagement
An integrated sports stadium will be built in Dehra to encourage youth participation in sports and keep them away from drug abuse. The State Government will explore creating a Public Works Department’s division at Dadasiba and sub-division at Kotla in the Jaswan Paragpur area, and a division of HPSEBL at Jaswan Pragpur.
Road Improvements
Roads from Dadasiba to Terrace, Bassi to Dadasiba, and Kunha to Lower Suneht will be improved. The possibility of opening a DSP office at Dadasiba and upgrading the Terrace Police Post to a Police Station will also be explored.
