Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], August 11: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu expressed his deep condolences on the passing of Lance Naik Praveen Sharma, a resident of Sirmaur, who lost his life during an encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

Brave Sacrifice

Praveen Sharma, who was part of the 1Para Special Force, laid down his life in the line of duty. CM Sukhu conveyed his heartfelt condolences to Sharma’s family and assured them of the state government’s support during this difficult time.

On social media, CM Sukhu shared, “The news of the martyrdom of Praveen Sharma, the brave son of Palu village, Rajgarh district, Sirmaur, while fighting terrorists in Anantnag is extremely heartbreaking. I pray to God to give place to the holy soul of Praveen Sharma ji in his feet and provide patience and strength to his family members in this hour of immense grief. This nation will always salute the immortal martyrdom of Praveen Sharma ji in the service of the country. Humble tribute.”

Deputy CM Mukesh Agnihotri and Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan also expressed their condolences and prayed for strength for the bereaved family.

Final Honors

Sirmaur Deputy Commissioner Sumit Khimta announced that the martyr’s body would arrive in Chandigarh on Monday, with arrangements made for an ambulance to transport the body to his native village, Habban in Rajgarh, Sirmaur district. The last rites will be performed with full military honors.
