Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu Pays Tribute to Former CM Virbhadra Singh

On July 8, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Congress party members gathered at Congress headquarters Rajiv Bhawan in Shimla to honor the third death anniversary of former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh.

Remembering a Leader

Virbhadra Singh, who served as Chief Minister six times, is remembered for his significant contributions to the state’s development. Chief Minister Sukhu expressed his admiration for Singh, stating that he is committed to following Singh’s path to progress for Himachal Pradesh. Sukhu shared his tribute on social media, calling Singh the ‘creator of modern Himachal.’

Tributes from Congress Members

Congress MLA Nand Lal and General Secretary Yashwant Chhajta, along with other party workers, paid their respects by offering flowers and recalling Singh’s development work. Nand Lal emphasized Singh’s achievements in health and infrastructure, noting that Singh’s efforts in building medical colleges and enhancing rural health services were particularly impactful.

Virbhadra Singh’s political career spanned over five decades, during which he also served as a Union Minister. He passed away on July 8, 2021, but his legacy continues to inspire the people of Himachal Pradesh.
