Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhu Introduces National Anthem and Flag in Schools

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has announced new initiatives to foster nationalism and patriotism among students. Starting soon, all schools in the state will conduct the national anthem during morning assemblies and unfurl the national flag daily.

These activities aim to instill a sense of unity and integrity among the younger generation, nurturing them into responsible citizens. The state government has also introduced various reforms in the education system, including making Physical Education and Yoga mandatory subjects. Students will dedicate at least 15 minutes each day to physical exercise.

Additionally, students will receive training in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid in collaboration with the Health and Ayush Departments. These reforms are part of the government’s commitment to providing holistic education that focuses on academic excellence, physical health, national pride, and civic responsibility.

Chief Minister Sukhu also highlighted the government’s efforts to support weaker sections of society. Under the Swaran Jayanti Ashray Yojna, the state is offering a grant of Rs. 1.50 lakh to SC, ST, and OBC individuals with an annual income of less than Rs. 50,000 for house construction. Last year, Rs. 17.25 crore was spent under this scheme, benefiting 1150 houseless persons.
