Himachal Pradesh Celebrates 118th Birth Anniversary of Founder Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar
On Sunday, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu led a state-level program at Vidhan Sabha to honor the 118th birth anniversary of Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar, the founder of Himachal Pradesh. During the event, CM Sukhu praised Dr. Parmar’s dedication to the state’s development and his visionary leadership.
CM Sukhu highlighted Dr. Parmar’s significant contributions, including the expansion of state boundaries and the preservation of Himachal’s rich culture and environment. He emphasized the importance of following Dr. Parmar’s principles for the state’s future growth.
The Chief Minister also mentioned the government’s efforts to ensure development in various sectors such as education, hydroelectricity, tourism, health, agriculture, horticulture, and food processing. He noted that better resource management had resulted in additional revenue of Rs. 2200 crore in a year.
During the event, CM Sukhu released two books: ‘Parmar: Himachal ke Shilpkar’ by Dr. Anshuk Attri and Dr. Rajender Attri, and ‘The Crafting of Himachal Pradesh’ by Dr. Anshuk Attri. He also attended an exhibition on Dr. Parmar’s life and paid tribute by garlanding his portrait.
Earlier, CM Sukhu and Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania paid floral tributes to Dr. Parmar at the Ridge. Speaker Pathania acknowledged Dr. Parmar’s significant role in overcoming financial challenges during the formation of Himachal Pradesh.
