In Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, the Himachal Pradesh State Pollution Control Board (HPSPCB) has generously contributed Rs 2 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. This donation was presented to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, who praised the Board’s commitment to social welfare.

Support for Employees and Pensioners

Chief Minister Sukhu announced that all Boards and Corporations in the state have been directed to release salaries and pensions by the 28th of this month, benefiting around 50,000 employees and pensioners. Additionally, a 4% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for government employees will be effective from January 1, 2023, benefiting the Pollution Control Board employees as well.

Commitment to Employee Welfare

The state government is also set to release pending arrears under the Sixth Pay Commission to Pollution Control Board employees. CM Sukhu emphasized the government’s dedication to employee welfare, highlighting the reinstatement of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) to ensure social security for retired employees. This decision, made during the first Cabinet meeting, reflects a focus on humanitarian values over political motives.
