On Sunday, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu laid the foundation stone for a new tourism complex in Auhar, Bilaspur district. The project, costing Rs 33.75 crores, will include a hotel block, food court, and recreational zone, and is expected to be completed in two years.

Features of the New Complex

The hotel block will have a reception area, a restaurant for 60 people, a conference room for 30 people, a Dham hall for 400 people, a banquet hall for 300 people, restrooms, a kitchen, and toilets. It will also offer 40 guest rooms. The food court will accommodate 214 people and feature eight stalls, a pickup area, common toilets, a kid’s play area, and a green area.

The recreational zone will include a swimming pool, gym and spa, pantry, store, back office, and toilet facilities on the ground floor. The first floor will have an indoor games room, lobby area, four massage rooms, and additional toilets. A sewage treatment plant with a capacity of 50 KLD will also be part of the complex.

Future Plans

The second phase of the complex will be built on the opposite side of the road and will include an amusement park for children, another food court, and other essential amenities. This phase will cost Rs 150 crore.

Government’s Commitment

Chief Minister Sukhu emphasized the importance of tourism for the state’s economy and employment opportunities. He assured that the government is committed to making Himachal Pradesh a top tourism destination.

Political Statements

During the event, the Chief Minister thanked the people for their support in the Assembly by-polls and criticized the BJP for attempting to topple the government. He urged BJP leaders to adopt a constructive role in the Opposition and advocate for the state’s interests.

Public Interaction

The Chief Minister also listened to public grievances and received a cheque of Rs. 31,000 for the CM Relief Fund from Lamberdar Jan Kalyan Sangh. Several dignitaries, including Town and Country Planning Minister Rajesh Dharmani and former MLAs, were present at the event.
