Former US Secretary of State, Hilary Clinton, extended strong support for Vice President Kamala Harris at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. Clinton emphasized that the ‘future is here’ and expressed that both her mother and Kamala’s mother would have encouraged them to keep going.
During her speech, Clinton reflected on her 2016 presidential campaign, where nearly 66 million Americans voted for a future without limits on their dreams. The convention will feature speeches from notable figures, including former President Barack Obama on Tuesday, focusing on ‘A Bold Vision for the Future,’ and former President Bill Clinton and Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi on Wednesday, under the theme ‘A Fight for Freedom.’ Other speakers include Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries.
Kamala Harris’s running mate, Mike Waltz, will accept the vice-presidential nomination on Wednesday, and Harris will formally accept the presidential nomination on Thursday, a night dedicated to the theme ‘For the Future.’
