Hezbollah’s Rocket and Drone Attacks Cause Chaos in Northern Israel

On Thursday morning, sirens blared across northern Israel as Hezbollah launched 200 rockets and drones. Residents in the Upper Galilee, Golan Heights, and coastal cities like Akko and Nahariya rushed to shelters. Shrapnel from an intercepted rocket damaged a shopping mall in Akko.

The group ‘Fighting for the North,’ representing evacuated Israeli families, urged the government to take stronger measures against Hezbollah. They stated, ‘The State of Israel is a step away from losing the North. This is a war for all intents and purposes and the State of Israel must win it and not surrender through an agreement.’

On Wednesday, an Israeli airstrike in Tyre, Lebanon, killed Muhammad Nimah Nasser, a Hezbollah commander responsible for rocket attacks on Israel. Overnight, Israeli jets targeted several Hezbollah sites in southern Lebanon.

Hezbollah’s attacks have forced around 60,000 Israelis to evacuate since October. The group has killed 10 civilians and 15 soldiers. Israeli officials are calling for Hezbollah to be disarmed and removed from southern Lebanon, in line with UN Security Council resolution 1701, which ended the 2006 Second Lebanon War.
