Heroic Rescue: Swetha and Dog Chaser Save Abandoned Newborn in Ahmedabad

Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi praised a vigilant citizen named Swetha and a trained dog named Chaser for their roles in saving an abandoned newborn baby in Ahmedabad. The baby was found on the road, surrounded by barking dogs. Swetha quickly intervened, taking the baby to a nearby hospital and informing the police.

The Ahmedabad Rural Police responded promptly, transferring the newborn to a higher medical facility. During the investigation, a dupatta was found at the scene, leading to further developments. The police called in their dog squad, and Chaser successfully traced the scent to a house 500 meters away, pinpointing the exact location on the first floor.

The suspect, an unmarried woman from Rajasthan, had abandoned the baby to conceal her unwanted pregnancy. The newborn is now safe and receiving proper medical care. This case highlights the compassion of Swetha, the extraordinary capabilities of Chaser, and the prompt action of the Ahmedabad Rural Police.
