Hemant Soren Sworn in Again as Jharkhand Chief Minister
On Thursday, Hemant Soren was sworn in as the 13th Chief Minister of Jharkhand at Raj Bhavan. His wife, Kalpana Soren, assured that he will continue to work for the people of the state. Former Chief Minister Champai Soren congratulated Hemant Soren and the alliance members on the formation of the new government.
Hemant Soren was released on bail on June 28 after spending nearly five months in jail due to a land scam case. He had resigned as Chief Minister before his arrest on January 31. The Enforcement Directorate had arrested him on charges related to an alleged land scam and money laundering.
Champai Soren had taken oath as the 12th Chief Minister of Jharkhand on February 2 but resigned after five months, paving the way for Hemant Soren to take over again. Hemant Soren had also taken the oath as the 11th Chief Minister of Jharkhand on December 29, marking the beginning of a new era for the state.
