Hemant Soren Prays at Maa Vindhyavasini Temple After Bail in Land Scam Case

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, along with his wife Kalpana Soren, visited the Maa Vindhyavasini Temple in Mirzapur to offer prayers. Soren wrote on X that he prayed for a healthy and happy life for the people of his state.

Upon his arrival, Soren was welcomed by District Magistrate Shiv Pratap Shukla. Recently, the Jharkhand High Court granted bail to Soren in an alleged land scam case. He was arrested by the Directorate of Enforcement in January on charges related to the scam and money laundering.

The investigation involves the alleged generation of substantial proceeds through the forgery of official records, using fake sellers and buyers to acquire large parcels of land worth crores. Following his arrest, Soren resigned as Chief Minister but was re-elected after winning a floor test in the state assembly on July 8.

Hemant Soren was sworn in as the 13th Chief Minister of Jharkhand on July 4. He was released from Birsa Munda Jail on June 28 after nearly five months in custody. Champai Soren, who had taken over as Chief Minister following Hemant Soren’s arrest, resigned, allowing Hemant Soren to resume his role.
