A helicopter carrying three people crashed near Bavdhan in Pune, Maharashtra, on Wednesday morning. The helicopter, operated by Heritage Aviation, had taken off from Juhu in Mumbai with two pilots and an engineer onboard. Unfortunately, all three people were killed in the crash.

Quick Response from Fire and Police Officials

Pune Chief Fire Officer Devendra Prabhakar Potphode said that fire teams from the nearest fire stations, along with the PMRDA fire department and MIDC, responded quickly to the crash site. They sent four fire vehicles and two rescue vehicles to the scene. Upon arrival, they found the helicopter wreckage scattered and a smouldering fire. The three casualties were extracted and handed over to the police.

Details of the Incident

Vishal Gaikwad, DCP Pimpri-Chinchwad, stated that the helicopter took off from Oxford Helipad Bavdhan and crashed shortly after at around 6:45 am. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) will investigate the cause of the crash. The area has been cordoned off by the police, and further details are awaited.
