Heavy Rains in Pakistan Cause Widespread Damage and Loss of Lives
Recent heavy rains in Pakistan have caused significant damage and loss of lives. In Sindh, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) reported that over 2,30,000 students and 3,25,245 acres of crops were affected, leaving 1,41,601 people homeless.
In Balochistan, torrential rains claimed 40 lives, including 24 children, 13 men, and three women. Nineteen people were injured, and many houses and roads were damaged. Additionally, 593 animals died, and several health units were affected.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 88 people died due to the rains since July 1, including 43 children, 26 men, and 19 women.
