Heavy Rains Cause Waterlogging in Mumbai: NDRF Teams Deployed

Heavy rains in Mumbai have caused severe waterlogging in various parts of the city. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has deployed teams to areas like Thane, Vasai, and Andheri to manage the situation.

Impact on Transportation

Suburban trains are running up to 10 minutes late, and some have been canceled. High-capacity water pumps are being used to clear water from the railway tracks. Traffic has slowed down on the Western Express Highway near Vile Parle, and many buses have been diverted due to waterlogged roads.

Efforts by Authorities

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is actively working to address the issues caused by the heavy rains. The BMC has requested residents not to believe in rumors and assured that their entire machinery is working in the field.

Areas Affected

Waterlogging has been reported in areas like Worli, Buntara Bhavan in Kurla East, King’s Circle, Dadar, and Vidyavihar Railway Station. A commuter at King’s Circle mentioned that his car got stuck on the road but acknowledged that the government is doing its job.
