After heavy rains hit Delhi-NCR, a tragic incident occurred in Greater Noida where the wall of an under-construction house collapsed, leading to the death of three children and injuring five others. The incident took place in Khodna Kalan village, Dadri Tehsil. Relief operations are ongoing, and financial help will be provided to the victims.

In another incident, a canopy collapse at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi resulted in one death and eight injuries. A technical committee has been formed to investigate the cause. Flight operations from Terminal 1 have been suspended and rescheduled to Terminal 2 and Terminal 3.

Details of the Incidents

Wall Collapse in Greater Noida

According to the police, eight children were trapped under the debris of the collapsed wall. Three children were declared dead by doctors, and the remaining five are receiving treatment at the hospital. Additional District Magistrate Atul Kumar stated that relief operations are underway and financial assistance will be provided to the victims.

Canopy Collapse at Delhi Airport

Following the heavy rains, a canopy collapsed at Terminal 1 of Indira Gandhi International Airport, resulting in one death and eight injuries. Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) has formed a technical committee to investigate the cause. Four vehicles were damaged, and the injured received immediate medical assistance. Flight operations from Terminal 1 have been suspended until further notice.

The India Meteorological Department reported that Delhi Safdarjung recorded 228.1mm of rain in the last 24 hours, the highest in June since 1936. The average rainfall in the area over the last 30 years is 75.2mm.
