Amid heavy rainfall in Gujarat, several parts of Gandhinagar experienced severe waterlogging, disrupting traffic on Tuesday. Visuals from Sector-13 Gandhinagar showed the Mahatma Mandir under-bridge heavily waterlogged, causing traffic jams.

Earlier on August 30, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel visited the Gandhinagar State Emergency Operation Center after traveling from Vadodara. He reviewed the system’s preparedness for the natural calamity via a video conference with the District Collector and issued immediate evacuation instructions to safeguard residents.

Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi held a meeting on Monday to discuss flood relief efforts in Vadodara. Sanghavi assured that the state government would ensure necessary assistance from insurance companies and provide relief material to flood-affected people.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) commenced relief operations for flood-hit cities in Gujarat. Transport aircraft delivered relief materials to the nearest airfields, and helicopters like Chetaks and Cheetahs were positioned for operations.

On September 1, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel appreciated the Indian Army’s help in rescue operations, stating that their support added great vigor to the state government’s efforts.
