Heavy Rains Cause Devastation in Pakistan: 22 Dead and Many Injured
Islamabad, Pakistan – Torrential rains have wreaked havoc across Pakistan, resulting in the deaths of at least 22 people and injuring many others within the last 24 hours. The heavy rainfall has caused widespread damage to life, property, and infrastructure.

The plains and hilly areas of Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), and Balochistan have been severely affected. Flooded rivers and streams, along with landslides in mountainous regions, have led to significant destruction.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP)
In KP, at least nine people have died due to various rain-related incidents. In Karak city, four people perished in a flood, and rescue personnel recovered their bodies from the rushing water. In North Waziristan, a house’s roof collapsed, injuring several people, including women and children.
Balochistan
Balochistan has emerged as the most affected province, with 12 people killed in separate incidents in a single day. Heavy rains have submerged roadways and low-lying areas like Chaman and Sibi, while other localities such as Toba Achakzai, Killa Abdullah, Muslim Bagh, Badini, Khanozai, and Ziarat were spared.
Sindh
In Sindh, rainwater infiltrated low-lying sections of cities like Dadu and Mirpur Khas, causing damage to homes. In Tehsil Johi, Dadu, cracks appeared in two newly built bridges on flood protection embankments due to strong floodwater flow.

The Provincial Disaster Management Authorities (PDMA) in the affected regions are actively responding to the crisis. Rescue operations are ongoing to help those affected by the floods and landslides.
