New Delhi, August 2: Early Friday, light showers hit parts of Delhi, with the IMD predicting intermittent showers until August 5. Heavy rains on Wednesday evening provided relief from the humid weather but led to traffic congestion and rain-related incidents.

Flight Diversions and Traffic Issues

Due to bad weather, Delhi witnessed 10 flight diversions. Air India warned that flights might be affected. The IMD cautioned about slippery roads, low visibility, and localized waterlogging.

Tragic Incidents

Amid heavy downpours, a house collapsed in Sabzi Mandi, with fire brigade officials delayed due to traffic. In Ghazipur, a woman and her child drowned in a waterlogged drain. Another incident in Bindapur saw a 12-year-old boy die from electrocution after touching a live cable.

Waterlogging Complaints

The Delhi Traffic Police received over 50 complaints about waterlogging from 6 pm until midnight on Wednesday.
