Amaravathi (Andhra Pradesh), August 31: Due to heavy rainfall affecting several parts of Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu held a review meeting. He instructed officials to stay vigilant and provide necessary assistance to the people in rain-affected areas.

He also warned of possible dangers such as falling power lines and trees due to heavy winds and rains.

Impact of Rainfall

Rain lashed parts of Vijayawada city on Saturday morning, causing waterlogging in several areas. Warangal city in Telangana also experienced heavy rainfall.

IMD Warning on Cyclone Asna

The Indian Meteorological Department issued a warning about Cyclone Asna, a deep depression over the Arabian Sea causing heavy rains in Gujarat. The cyclone is expected to move West-Northwest over the Northeast Arabian Sea and away from the Indian coast within the next 24 hours.

The deep depression is moving at a speed of 14 km per hour and is located 250 km West of Naliya in Gujarat, 160 km South-South West of Karachi in Pakistan, and 350 km East-Southeast of Pasni in Pakistan.
