IMD Issues Alerts for Several Districts

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rain for three days until July 12 in Himachal Pradesh. A yellow alert has been issued for today and tomorrow.

Recent Rainfall

IMD scientist Sandeep Kumar Sharma reported that in the past 24 hours, there has been light to moderate rainfall across the state. Malgaon in Bilaspur received heavy rainfall, Shimla recorded 44mm, and Kasauli, Rampur, and Kufri experienced moderate rainfall.

Upcoming Weather Alerts

Heavy rainfall alerts have been issued for July 11 and 12 for the districts of Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Chamba, Kangra, Solan, Shimla, and Sirmaur. Temperatures are expected to remain normal today and tomorrow in central areas, with moderate rainfall.

Rainfall Statistics

Rain activity is expected to increase after July 10, with rain across the state on July 10, 11, and 12. Rainfall in July is currently 50% above normal. However, Sirmaur, Una, and Lahaul-Spiti have below-normal rainfall, while other districts have above-normal rainfall. There is a 19% rain deficit for the entire season so far. In Mandi, Shimla, Kullu, and Solan, rain is normal this season, while Hamirpur, Kangra, Lahaul-Spiti, Sirmaur, and Solan have below-normal rainfall.
