Heavy Rain Causes Waterlogging in Delhi

New Delhi, India – On August 20, parts of Delhi experienced severe waterlogging due to heavy rainfall early Tuesday morning. The downpour led to traffic congestion, making it difficult for people to commute.

Areas Affected

Severe waterlogging was reported near Ashram Bridge and Minto Road, where parked vehicles were submerged in water.

Weather Forecast

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted widespread light to moderate rainfall for Delhi and southwest NCR on Tuesday. A moderate-to-intense spell is expected over Central and East Delhi in the morning hours.

Warnings for Other Regions

IMD has also issued warnings for heavy to very heavy rain at isolated places in Uttarakhand, and heavy rain at isolated places in Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh. Thunderstorms and lightning are expected at isolated places in Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.
