The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted a yellow alert over the state from September 6 to September 9. The forecast includes thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds on Saturday. On September 8, rain is expected in Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar, Mulugu, and other places. Thunderstorms and lightning with gusty winds at speeds of 30 to 40 km per hour are anticipated. Very heavy rain is likely at isolated places on Sunday, September 9.
Floods in Khammam
On September 2, the water level of the Munneru River increased in Khammam’s Prakash Nagar. Congress MP Ramasahayam Raghuram Reddy reported that the floods caused damage to houses and that people have been rescued. Food relief and rehabilitation work are underway.
