Heavy Rain Alerts in Kerala and Mahe: IMD Issues Red and Orange Alerts

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Malappuram district and an orange alert for seven other districts in Kerala due to heavy rains. The alerts are for June 22 and 23, with heavy to extremely heavy rainfall expected.

Additionally, red alerts are in place for Kerala and Mahe over the weekend. The IMD has also issued warnings for Karnataka, Goa, and Odisha.

Meanwhile, Delhi-NCR experienced light rain, providing relief from the heat, with the monsoon expected around June 30. The Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital reported five deaths due to suspected heatstroke, with 12 others in critical condition.
