HD Kumaraswamy and PM Modi Express Grief Over Hathras Stampede Tragedy

Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy and Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed their sorrow over the tragic stampede in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, which claimed 116 lives and injured 18. Kumaraswamy and Modi offered condolences and wished for the swift recovery of the injured.

According to Chaitra V, Commissioner of Aligarh, the latest death toll has risen to 116, and 18 people are injured. Aligarh IG Shalabh Mathur stated that the dead bodies have been sent for post-mortem, and a high-level inquiry has been ordered. The organizers of the event will be included in the FIR due to the attendance exceeding the permitted number.

The Uttar Pradesh government announced 2 lakh compensation to the kin of those who died. Prime Minister Modi spoke with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who has ordered a thorough investigation and is personally monitoring the situation. Two ministers, the Chief Secretary, and the DGP have been dispatched to the site.

Hathras District Magistrate Ashish Kumar mentioned that the incident occurred at a private event, and a high-level committee has been formed to investigate. The primary focus is to provide all possible help to the injured and the families of the deceased.
