Over 2 Crore Voters Ready to Cast Their Votes
On October 5, Haryana will conduct its 15th Legislative Assembly elections. Chief Electoral Officer Pankaj Agarwal announced that more than 2.03 crore voters are eligible to vote. The voting will take place from 7 am to 6 pm across 20,632 polling booths.
Voter Demographics
The voter list includes over 1.07 crore men, more than 95 lakh women, and 467 third-gender individuals. There are 5,24,514 young voters aged 18 to 19, and 1,49,142 voters with disabilities. Additionally, 2,31,093 voters are above 85 years, and 8,821 are over 100 years old.
Candidates and Election Details
A total of 1,031 candidates are contesting, including 930 males and 101 females, with 464 running as independents. The election will decide the 90-member state legislative assembly, with results to be announced on October 8.
Previous Election Results
In the 2019 elections, the BJP emerged as the largest party with 40 seats, while Congress won 30 seats.
